Have you ever walked from Newcastle to Uluru?  The staff at Crest Financial Services did in the month of May, by taking a combined 4,823,920 steps which is the equivalent of walking 2,132 kilometres.

This achievement, is a result of the Fitbit staff challenge initiated by the Crest Health and Wellbeing committee in conjunction with management to promote a healthier, more active and enjoyable work environment.

The Fitbit wrist bands each staff member wears, easily track and record individual steps, sleeping patterns and other exercise habits.  This monitoring has provided an increased awareness of individual health status and has provided a base from which to set personal health improvement goals.  Staff have eagerly embraced the technology and have already benefited from the encouragement and friendly inter office competition, promoted by the online recording.  There has also been an additional financial benefit obtained by a reduction in Life insurance premiums offered as a result of living a more active and healthy life.

The Crest Fitbit Staff Challenge has reinforced our strong belief that if you want to achieve a goal (be it health or financial) then you need to invest in a strategy, then record and monitor it on an ongoing basis.
